How often should I see a chiropractor?

7 to 14 Day Rule the Key to Healthy Living

I’m often asked how often I should see a chiropractor. The answer is every 7 to 14 days depending on the phase of care you are in.

The acute phase is for those having moderate to severe symptoms. Injuries caused by lifting, twisting or repetitive movements, auto accidents, yard work, sitting at a computer all day, looking at your cell phone every minute, playing sports. Pain starts suddenly or it’s a problem that has been ignored for a while. If you are in pain when you come into our office, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem, it is typical to need care daily or several times per week.

The corrective phase is for those that have been through the acute phase or those that want correction and spinal stability. Anyone that wants to improve their posture, improve joint mobility, decrease injuries, During the corrective care phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, thereby helping prevent injury. It is typical to need care four to eight times per month for six to 24 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

Wellness support phase: Once your body has fully healed, routine chiropractic care, every 7 to 14 days, can help ensure your problems do not return and keep your body in great condition. Just like continuing an exercise program and eating correctly in order to sustain the benefits of exercise and proper diet, it is necessary to continue chiropractic care every 7-14 days, to ensure the health of your musculoskeletal and nervous system.

I recommend you follow the “7-14 Day Rule“, making routine chiropractic care as part of your lifestyle, you avoid many problems such as aches, pains and soreness, stiffness, that so many people suffer through, your joints will last longer, move better, have better range of motion and you will be able to engage in more of the activities you love. – Dr. L.
